Some of your favourite walks could be right under your nose without you knowing! Here, I’ve compiled a list of some of my well-explored, well-approved, local trails I have gathered over the few years of dog walking in Coalville.
1. Coalville Park
This trail is located in the center of Coalville, and is a circuit around the beautiful park, with an adjoining doggy field at the back. I would say that the estimated walk time can range from 30mins to an hour, depending on how many laps you do. One downside I will say is that there is children who frequent the play area, therefore this location may not be suitable for untrained, younger dogs or reactive dogs who aren’t restrained. However, dogs are allowed off the leash and I have taken the ball there many times!
2. Whitwick Pond
This trail is located around the Whitwick Football grounds and play park. There is a distinct circuit around the pond itself and also adjoining fields in the surrounding areas on either side. The area is suitable for family walks too, the seated toy train runs about every other Sunday of the month with a small fee to pay for a cute memory with the little ones. Dogs are welcome to be off leash, although if your dog has a wild side it is known that there will be birds such as ducks and geese about!
